Planning Robot Testing: Start with Intended Use and Risks

Published:2026-09-11 Views:76 LinkedIn Facebook X

Intended use, motion systems, power supplies and communications configurations are key foundations for a robot testing plan.

Robots are used for cleaning, delivery, companionship and other services; products that look similar may operate under different conditions. When planning testing, first describe the intended use scenarios, users and functions, then assess the relevant requirements.

Document the motion mechanisms, charging dock, battery, sensors and wireless modules, and specify indoor or outdoor operating conditions. For multiple operating modes, record control methods and abnormal-condition handling logic so engineers understand the sample’s complete operation.

Testing documents should be updated with development versions. Reassess relevant items after adding functions, changing power supplies or altering critical construction. Businesses can provide GTG with specifications and configuration lists for preliminary discussions; the testing scope and sample preparation requirements depend on the actual assessment.
