Product Overview

Mobile energy storage supports relocation and temporary power, using trailer-mounted, movable cabinet or onboard auxiliary power configurations. Systems typically integrate batteries, power conversion, distribution and protection devices. Testing considers operating conditions, transport conditions and on-site installation.

Key checks cover the effects of transport vibration on connectors and battery mounts, external power interfaces, cable strain, grounding and overload protection. Outdoor models also require defined ingress protection and environmental ranges. Onboard auxiliary storage and vehicle traction batteries must have their applicable requirements confirmed separately.

GTG Group develops testing plans based on the target market, product configuration and existing reports, providing document review, sample validation, issue analysis, corrective retesting and certification application support. Coordinated assessment of the complete product, critical components and system interfaces helps manufacturers define the project scope and prepare technical documentation.

Test Basis & Assessment Priorities
Test Category Assessment Basis & Scope
Battery Classification The applicability of battery standards such as IEC 62619 is assessed for stationary, industrial auxiliary or other uses; these requirements are not applied directly to road vehicle traction batteries.
Conversion & Distribution Applicable complete-product safety requirements are selected according to inverter, charging, AC output and DC output configurations, with power distribution protection coordination verified.
Transport & Mechanical Testing Required tests and documentation are confirmed by the battery transport method. Vibration, shock and structural checks reflect the declared relocation conditions.
Abnormal Conditions Protection responses are verified under short-circuit, overload, control fault and communication fault conditions. Specific tests are determined by the applicable standards and system configuration.
Environment & Reliability Environmental, mechanical and continuous-operation tests are developed according to indoor or outdoor use, installation method and product claims.

The applicable standards editions and scope are confirmed during planning. Reference:Scope of IEC 62619、IEC 62477-1。

FAQs

Classification depends on capacity, weight, handling method, output interfaces and intended use. Mechanical securing and power distribution risks in trailer-mounted or large mobile equipment cannot be assessed simply as those of a handheld outdoor power station.
Distinguish them according to actual use. Auxiliary storage supplying living or work equipment differs in function and assessment route from a traction battery that drives a vehicle.
Turning off the power does not eliminate mechanical risks. Battery mounting, connectors, wiring harnesses and housings still need assessment against expected transport conditions, with vibration or shock testing where necessary.
Develop the plan based on target markets, capacity, power, test combinations and existing documentation. Confirm separately the batteries for destructive tests, representative complete products and accessories. Turnaround time follows the project plan established after assessment.
Prepare specifications, circuit diagrams, critical component lists, software versions, protection logic, operating instructions and existing reports. Identify differences between models in the series and specify the target markets.
Engineers check report scope, standard editions, model details and actual integration conditions to determine which evidence can be accepted. Component compliance does not automatically establish compliance of the complete product or installed system.
